1. Ownership
christianmurphy.com (‘the Site’) is a web site owned and operated by Christian Murphy (‘Christian’). [Contact]
2. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (‘the Terms’) apply to all users of the Site (‘Site Users’). Entry to the Site, clicking on any of the links in the Site, or the use of any of its content by a Site User signifies acceptance of the Terms.
3. Privacy
The Privacy Policy of the Site forms part of the Terms. [Privacy Policy]
4. Changes to Terms
Christian reserves the right to change the Terms at any time without notice. Please refresh this page and read the Terms carefully. Site Users should check this page frequently to ensure they are aware of any changes to the Terms.
5. Copyright Notice
Unless otherwise indicated, all design, images, text and other content of the Site are the copyright property of Christian.
6. Limitation of Liability
No responsibility is accepted by Christian for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the content, information or code of the Site. Reference to any organisation or person in the Site, or any third-party site that it is linked to, does not indicate any form of endorsement. Christian does not take responsibility or accept liability for any loss or damage resulting from using the Site and its content, information or code or any third-party site that it is linked to.
7. Site Content
The content of the Site is provided for general information purposes only. It does not constitute professional advice and it is an insufficient basis for making any diagnosis or devising any treatment or care plan. It is not intended in any way to be a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

The diagnosis and treatment of mental distress, suicidal behaviour and psychological disorders requires consultation with an appropriately qualified professional. If Site Users have any concerns about their health, safety or welfare, they should contact an appropriately qualified professional, such as their General Practitioner, or contact the police or their local Accident and Emergency Department.
8. Crisis Situations
Christian is unable to offer crisis counselling on demand and cannot respond to urgent requests. If Site Users are feeling suicidal, they may use the links below to access some immediate support.

Samaritans: http://www.samaritans.org.uk/
Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those that may lead to suicide.

Suicide support site: http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/
This is an excellent web resource for those not ready to speak to someone on the telephone.

Suicide and Crisis Help Lines around the World: http://www.suicide-helplines.org/
This site provides access to the world's most comprehensive directory of suicide and crisis help lines.

9. Booking and Payment for Sessions
Entry to and use of the Site by a Site User does not by itself make the Site User a client of Christian. No contract for services exists between Christian and any Site User until an appointment for a first session has been mutually agreed and payment has been received. Christian reserves the right to decline to make an appointment for a session with any Site User.

The Site does not offer or entail any on-line services. All services provided by Christian are either provided face-to-face or on the telephone.

Booking and payment for face-to-face work: Face-to-face sessions are booked on a week-by-week basis and are paid for at the end of each session. Missed sessions are payable at the next session. Seven days notice of a cancelled session is required, otherwise the fee is payable in full, unless another mutually convenient time can be found within the following week. The price per session is detailed on the Site.

Booking and payment for telephone work: Once an initial contract for telephone work has been agreed, an arrangement will be made for the first telephone session to occur, at a pre-arranged date and time. Christian will be responsible for making the call at the prearranged time, but if the client is not available at that time and has not given notice of such, the fee will still be payable. Seven days notice of a cancelled session is required, otherwise the fee is payable in full, unless another mutually convenient time can be found within the following week. Payment for each session must be received in advance of the session; this can be paid by debit or credit card. The price per session is detailed on the Site.

Christian only works with adults of 18 years of age or over. By entering into a contract for services with Christian, a Site User warrants that they are 18 years of age or over.

10. Refund Policy
Sessions that have been paid for will be refunded if they are cancelled with more than one week’s notice.

In the unlikely event that Christian is unable to conduct a session that has been paid for, the fee for that session will be refunded.

11. Complaints
If a Site User wishes to make a complaint for any reason, they should contact Christian.

Christian is a member of Metanoia Institute, and is an associate member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis. He abides by the Codes of Ethics and Codes of Professional Practice of both those organisations. In the event of an unresolved complaint to which those Codes of Ethics and Codes of Professional Practice apply, Christian agrees to be bound by the decisions of the Metanoia Institute, and the Institute of Transactional Analysis.

12. Links to Other Web Sites
The Site contains links to third-party web sites that are not operated by Christian. These links are provided for Site Users’ reference and convenience only and do not imply any endorsement of the content or privacy policies of these third-party web sites or any association with their operators or their activities. Christian does not control these third-party web sites and is not responsible for their content or privacy policies. If Site Users choose to access third-party web sites via links on the Site, they do so at their own risk.

Site Users are strongly recommended to review any privacy policy posted on any site they visit before using that site or providing any personal information about themselves.

13. Links from Other Web Sites
Linking to any page other than the initial start page of the Site is prohibited. Persons providing access to the Site via a link from a third-party web site are solely responsible for the content and privacy policies of that third-party web site.
